meus intuitus

In all honesty, I feel a real and persistent stress here—the same stress that I felt when backpacking Europe last summer.  My person’s preferred state of existence is to be shrouded in familiarity.  There have been times in this past week when I have thought to myself: “Why am I here?  I miss my friends.  I am uncomfortable.  I want some routine.” However, I am reminded that such sentiments, for me, are the essence of travel.  May I never cease subjecting myself to worthwhile challenges.

“Traveling is a brutality…  Nothing is yours except the essential things—air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky.” –Cesare Pavese
