Facebook is too much needless, self-important, and shameless self-promotion.  I liked it better when it was just a tool for connecting—before its “twitterization” with the status updates nonsense.  “Fun friday.”  “Great trip to Philly.”  “I LOVE MY FRIENDS.”  I don’t give a damn.  News flash:  Your life is overrated.  Ok, well I don’t hate pictures.  I like that people can share pictures of the things they do and are into, but I really do despise the twitter side of facebook.

I’ve been using this program to ban facebook for up to 24 hours at a time.  You can’t un-ban the URLs you’ve banned—not even by restarting your computer or uninstalling the program.  It lets up only when it has run its course.  My only grievance is that it does not allow for bans longer than 24 hours.

  1. What pictures do people post?
Socializing at parties with lots of other people, generally.
The message: “My social life is awesome, I’m a desirable person in top demand. My life is thrilling.”

Facebook makes every one of us a copywriter. The product: ourselves.

Gluon the Ferengi does have his own facebook page but the account has yet to prove of any great value.
My blogs are far more useful for the kind of networking I’m trying to do.
