Imagining a situation in which you would not have something that you currently do have makes you happy.  “What if my parents never gave me that few grand to buy a car?  What if I did not quite have the grades to get into medical school?  What if I never went to that one party and never met those great people?  What if I were Canadian?”  Funny how such a simple thought exercise can produce contentment!

  1. We assign ourselves way too much credit for our accomplishments.
    In any of our lives, there are hundreds of situations where just one mishap would have irrevocably arrested our progress.
    There’s reasons why only a small percentage resides near the top.
    Of thousands of fish eggs that hatch, only a few avoid the caprices of the environment to become full adults.
